Uhm I don't know I can't see this as a helpful thread... I mean, I don't know if A-net will come here and pick up those users we make the name of....(don't know if I wrote this in proper english xD). I remember that like 6 months ago I subscribed for being chosen as a beta tester of GW2, and they said that people will be picked up randomly between those ones who subscribed....the thing is that you could access the subscription page after a lot of redirections from the official website...that looked weird to me, and I never saw people discussin about it on guru or elsewhere, and when I tried to talk about nobody seemed interessed ..... well so yea, I think it will be random pickup. After all, the xmas cards were also quite random.

I don't care. I'd be willing to wait until a later stage of testing cuz my PC might not be able to handle any software errors that come from an earlier version and I know it can't handle the graphics at all. I really need a new PC or at the very least a new video card. I suspect alot of people might be ineligible based on inferior hardware as well.

I'd only do it for the free play time. Glad I didn't get into the AoC beta. They just got stung with a 30gb patch...can anyone say **** that?

maybe they should randomly select people that have more than 'x' amount of hours played over 'y' amount of months? i think that selecting only the most 'leet' (god i hate leetspeak) would skew the reviews. a good mix of experienced people from pvp and pve backgrounds would generate a solid set of observations...

Give everyone who has an active GW account a beta access key.

Those who want to use it can, those who don't can give it someone who maybe wants to try it.

Or open beta.

i think they should:

1) pick some people from the original beta of GW.
2) Pick some people from the top of the Pvp ladders.
3) Leaders/officers from the top guilds
4) People who have logged major hours on multiple characters
5) for every one person of 1-4, have at least 2 random PvE'rs (and i mean random) to balance it out.

You really need a mix of old and new, leet and newb. that's the only way to go fairly.

any myself, of course :P

Agreed. My computer would choke and die on GW2 as well.

Here's what should be done;

Take 1-2 representatives from each of the top few guilds, from each location. Take the top X highest ranked/most active HA players.

That should make a good beta test team. I'm not being against PvErs, but PvPers should be the ones to test things. They'd actually do a good job instead of walking around going "ohhh that's so pretty".

We could have some PvErs, as long as they actually know how to play the game, and aren't just big tards.

Also, those few who voted me, <3 you guise.
